WATERFOWL

1.  Scout for early arriving birds
2.  Apply for blinds at state waterfowl areas and federal refuges
3.  Reserve guides and motels for distant trips
4.  Erect new blinds, re-brush and repair old ones
5.  Remove rust, clean and oil your shotgun
6.  Check that boats are sea-worthy and well camouflaged
7.  Make sure the outboard starts up and runs smoothly
8.   Inventory life preserves, paddles and emergency gear
9.  Clean, repair replace old, beat up decoys
10. Check shotgun shells and purchase as needed
11. Be sure and obtain license and proper federal stamps

DEER

1.   Scout fields in evenings to see where deer are entering from
2.   Hang scouting cameras near funnels, field edges and scrapes
3.   Check last year's stand to make sure the hardware is still strong
4.   Hang new stands where you found hot signs.
5.   Inventory your hunting gear and see what needs to be replaced.
6.   Tune you bow, tighten sight and quiver screws, wax or replace 
      the string.
7.   Sight in your gun
8.   Practice with bow and gun
9.   Buy tags and license; order topographic maps
10. Get a physical and start exercising
